About the Authors:

Dr. Karen Melton, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

In 2003, Dr. Karen Melton opened her own practice, Audiology and Hearing Center, in her hometown of Farmington. “I selected Farmington because being close to my family is important to me,” she says. “I love the small-town atmosphere and wanted to raise my children here.”

Dr. Melton graduated from Farmington High School and attended Mineral Area College. Her credentials include a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University, a master’s degree at the University of Georgia, and a doctorate degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences. As a Farmington native, she “gives back” to her profession and the community. She recently served on the Board of the Missouri Academy of Audiology and received the Key Contributor Award for excellence in serving the community.

Dr. Michelle Woodward, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Michelle Woodward is a native of Clarksville, Missouri. She received her Bachelor of Arts in communication disorders from Truman State University in 1997 and her Master of Science degree in audiology from Western Illinois University in 2000. 

Her varied clinical experience, knowledge gained from hundreds of hours of continued education, and passion for helping people enable Dr. Woodward to offer her patients the highest level of hearing health care. She is currently certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and maintains a fellowship with the American Academy of Audiology.
